Thursday 6/12

Wow - the Sunflowers are beautiful but ……. the farm is wet!   We will be here and would love to have you out, just be prepared for a muddy venture in the Sunflower field.   It will take a day or two to dry out - we will keep you updated here.

Thursday afternoon 6/5

Recent rains have the Sunflower field a bit lack luster.  The aisles are drying up quickly and pretty much already passable with only a few muddy spots.  We have two fields of Sunflowers -  Field number 1 is on the way out and Field #2 is not quite ready so that means this weekend will have great flowers but not a picture worthy field of flowers.  We expect Field #2 to be going strong by the following weekend.  As always, we will be here with smiling faces, fun children activities and hungry goats to feed.  The Picnic area is now well shaded so bring a sack lunch and enjoy a relaxing time on the farm.  Hope to see you soon!

By the way, Strawberry season is completely finished.  It was an interesting year with lots of ups and downs.  We hope you were able to get in on the action.  Now we will start renovating the fields and getting ready to plant new plants in October.

Tuesday June 3, 2025

We are open rain or shine! We've had some spotty showers, but nothing coming down too heavy. The sunflower field just dried out, and is still in good shape. Now is a great time to pick sunflowers, but you'll have to do some sorting between the "over ripe" flowers and the ones that are just getting started. You want to pick a flower that isn't fully opened just yet for the longest vase life. We will have a small showing this weekend as our main field is winding down, BUT next weekend we are expecting field #2 to be in bloom so we aren't done with sunflowers just yet! We are looking at a good showing of flowers again June 14th-June 22nd. Hope to see you soon!

Sunday June 1, 2025

A great day for sunflower picking! Rows have considerably dried out, but there is still a small amount of mud out in the field. So don't wear white shoes today! When picking your sunflowers it's always best to pick a young flower- one that hasn't opened all the way up yet - for the best vase life! We are nearing the end of peak bloom and sloping back down, but still have some really nice blooms out in the field. We have a second field planted but they are just taking their time to bloom this year. Farm is open till 8 PM today. Hope to have you out!

Friday Morning 5/30

Eeesh! Another 1.5 inches this morning makes for a wet field again. I would wait until Sunday to visit us to allow the field some time to dry out. As farmers we never complain about the rain, but we do complain about the mud! Sunflowers are still blooming strong and will have a good showing this weekend. We aren't predicting anything after this weekend just yet so we can see how our second field is developing. Strawberries have stopped producing for this 2025 spring, we are hopeful for another crop in late November/early December or if we have a cold fall we will have to wait until next spring. We have this fun game we like to play... Is it a baby or is it a goat? We always ask ourselves this question when we are by the goat pen. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish between a baby cry and a goat cry. Try it next time you're visiting the goats! Farm is open with smiling faces today.... Can't wait to have you out!

Thursday Morning 5/29

The Sunflowers are beautiful ......... the field is a bit muddy.  The Farm has been on the receiving end of some very beneficial rains of late.  While most of the areas are grass covered and easily walkable, inside the Sunflower field is muddy.  It will dry out a bit through the day, this is one of those days coming early would not be the best idea.
Did you see the forecast high for tomorrow - 83 degrees.  Whaaaaat?!! Super nice.  We have another chance of rain tonight but then a few days of drying so the weekend looks like it might be pretty nice.

A beautiful morning on the farm today! We got quite a bit of rain last night that has left the sunflower field muddy. If visiting the farm today, I recommend bringing some rain boots to do the picking in. Sunflowers are still standing tall and looking great! Can't wait to have y'all out soon.

Boy oh Boy these sunflowers look great! We're enjoying looking at the flowers, and y'all are too! They are leaving the field by the bucket full, but not to worry, we are hardly making a dent on the 15,000 that are currently in bloom. We're in peak bloom right now that should last until about June 1st. We will have sunflowers in bloom until at least June 8th. $5 entry to the field for ages 2 and up. Sunflowers are not mandatory to pick, but if you want to they are priced by the stem. 1-11 stems: $2.00 each      12-23 stems: $1.50 each     and 24+ stems are only $1.00 each! We have all our activities going on as well, goats to feed, bouncy pad, paint a pot, sand art, goat rides, and barrel train! See you soon!

Good Morning! We had a nice little storm roll through the farm last night. The good news is that all the sunflowers have weathered the storm! We are going to be a little muddy this morning but it already looks like the ground is drying up quickly. We are in peak bloom right now! Now is the time to come for the sunflowers! We have about a 1 week window here that the majority of our crop will be in bloom. Strawberry season has ended for the spring. We are already missing them. Can't wait to have you out for some farm fun!

Monday evening 5/19

We had a nice little shower this morning.  It seemed like a lot but was only 4 hundredths, just enough to settle the dust.  At this time of year we will take whatever we can get, so Praise the Lord for 4 hundredths.
It is Sunflower season and the field is putting on a show!  Every day more and more blooms pop out.  They are such a pretty flower and just brighten up everything around them.  According to my kids (they are the ones in charge of Sunflowers) we should have blooms for another month at least.
Strawberry season is practically over.  I saw a few boxes of nice berries picked today and there will be a few tomorrow but the picking will not be easy.  I am embarrassed to let you in the Strawberry field because weed growth has exploded..  Little by little we have started removing the plants, plastic and drip in order to renovate the fields.  But as long as there are some berries - we will let you brave the elements to get them.
The Farm grounds are in great shape and the activities are fun.  We hope to see you soon.
